I guess one of the few benefits of writing for a major publication is that you get these awesome travel budgets to develop original content, hell, I've been in that situation and I'll admit, it is pretty awesome. Dwell did just that, by producing a photo series on a topic ...

It has been a bad month for losing creative geniuses that on a personal note, have influenced my tastes more than I can probably imagine. And whilst I don't need to compare Ralph McQuarrrie and Moebius, I love both bodies of work equally, I am little more saddened by the ...

I got these bad ass headphones through the post this morning, rather quick I might add. I was immediately sold on the matt black 9mm casings, I mean anyone would be surprised if I wasn't, but more importantly, I gave them a quick metal test this morning. Let me tell ...

There is not much to say about this, but that I simply fell in love with the dinnerware and ceramics by Laura Zindel the moment I saw them first. Beautiful motives and nice details. Unfortunately the distribution in Europe is pretty non-existent, but you can order directly through laurazindel.com.

Yatzer comes correct once again by highlighting this beautifully designed apartment in Sao Paulo. In a sea of badly designed pseudo post industrial apartments on too many so called design blogs, this is an example of how to do it right. There is real warmth here, no forced minimalism by ...

The fact that legendary band Sleep is going to be touring across Europe shouldn't be a big secret to any fan at this point anymore, but this piece of news was. Santos, otherwise known as Eye Bleed Ink has been working on a new design for their tour t-shirts and ...

Holy Heavy Metal Smokes! There aren't many artists out there right now doing work for good bands that I really get a kick out, but damn, when Arik Roper drops a new piece of work you pay attention. When that said piece of work also happens to be for a ...

We all currently work on a pretty large work bench, which in a previous life served as a dinning table in our office. Whilst I sometime enjoy having the entire Black Lodges team on one desk, there are increasing times when I need a desk to myself, and I have ...

I have had a Tanner Goods Lanyard for 2 years I think, and only reluctantly used it- simply because a small technical feature was missing that made me loose the damn thing regularly. Seemingly, this has been amended with the addition of a piece of leather that reaches around the lanyard horizontally, ...

I was going to ask, why the hell we dont make cars like this anymore, and then read on that the designer died testing this beast, so the answer is pretty obvious, but still. The actual design aesthetic of this beauty is just that, beautiful. I don't like cars past ...

Designed by Fristho Franeker in the 50s in Holland, this is one of my favourite storage units so far. I have only ever come across one in person, sadly, pretty trashed but I really dig the unusual additional open storage unit on the right.
Here is a link to one of these in ...

I know a bunch of you readers that were at (capsule) Berlin asked me about the industrial lettering that we had for our restaurant, which were graciously supplied and curated by Ply here in Hamburg. Luck has it that they just received a new shipment of some pretty awesome letters, ...

Anyone that follows me on Instagram should be aware of the fact that I am a big fan of Godmachine's work, I've bought several of his prints in the past and will continue as long as the good man puts out work. A new print just became available, called "Spider ...
