Pastis

I LOVE this drink. A LOT.  As in a WHOLE BUNCH. I am not sure if it is the anisette and fennel taste, the transformation it takes on from its straight form to its milky white state when mixed with chilled water. Maybe it was that perfect sunny afternoon my ladyfriend and I discovered them with my brother Anthony in Marseille.  Maybe it was the rounds of them at Le Duke with The Reference Council family.  Or maybe yet it is when they are enjoyed at an impromptu stop at a local Philadelphia bistro that offers the real deal Pastis to me when Heather and I stop in after a great post brunch walk after some Orval’s had already been consumed (see the article on ORVAL for more info on them). Either way, this is one of my top 3 drinks of all time. No question.  Now go search them out and enjoy!
