A Discourse On SOPA
What To Do Now?
In all honesty, I don’t know anymore. Prior to the arrest and seizure of Megaupload, I would have said, boycott everything by everyone that supports SOPA and force the government to do what the hell it is supposed to do, represent you and your interest.
Since our governments obviously do not feel like they are equal under the same laws as we are, and feel like they can arrest, murder and destroy anyone at will that doesn’t suit their version of reality, what are we left with? Just because you can go to a Starbucks every day don’t think that our current situation, in regards to privacy, your legal rights are any different to those under a dictatorship? History has shown us what to do with dictators, and it makes no difference if they wear a military, clerical or business uniform, fact is, that is where we are. I don’t necessarily agree with the business practices of Megaupload, but for fucks sake, you can’t snatch people off the streets without a warrant, approved by a judge and make them disappear. That’s what Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Pinochet, Mao Tze Tung and so did.
It’s up to you how to see this, and to act on what you understand, but as I am finishing this off, my own opinion is becoming clearer.
