The Chelsea Farmer’s Club is more than just a store – what is the idea behind it all?

The idea behind the Chelsea Farmer’s Club is a big pot of ideas thrown together that brewed for several years before I realized it all: Media, Music, Wellingtons and good alcohol. Today, the Chelsea Farmer’s Club encompasses both stores in Berlin and Düsseldorf, a newspaper and a new party location in Berlin will be brought back to life soon. Ideas for a TV show and a nail saloon are in the pipe line.

What did you do in your previous life and how, if at all, did it influence the Chelsea Farmer’s Club?

I worked in television for 15 years. I came up with concepts from magazines to prime time TV formats. What is interesting is that the theatrical elements in television are almost the same in retail. Unfortunately, you cannot touch “things” in TV. That was a major reason to start something new. The feeling of scratchy tweed in incomparable.
