Back in Black – A Tribute to 30 Years of Rock n’Roll
Dave Kinsey, Artist
Back in Black” was the first metal album I’d ever heard back in 4th grade – I think I was like 9? There was this short (reclusive type) kid named Lawrence in the back on my class with black framed glasses who actually turned me onto AC/DC. Who knew? One day at recess he broke out the album on his walkman. I was blown away! It was an Episcopal private school so listening to the beginning of “Hells Bells” went great right before you headed into weekly mass. We’d sing the lyrics during hymns, underneath the harmony of the organ. It was the panacea for the religious ills. Haha! I don’t think anything could have been more liberating and relevant at that time. Still to this day it’s one of my top ten albums.
