This is our first fashion, for a lack of a better word, production we have done for The Reference Council. I use the word “fashion” somewhat lightly and added with a fair amount of sarcasm as I really am one of the most unfashionable people I know. This doesn’t mean that I am not interested in dressing well, quite on the contrary, I just don’t get excited about clothes, that’s all, nor am I particularly interested in trends per se. Which made the idea of producing this all the more interesting and eventually, challenging. From having worked at fashion magazines in the past and having dealt with these sort of productions in the past I was aware of certain rules, keep it within one season, don’t mix too many brands etc etc. Eventually, I just said, “Screw this- I’ll just do what feels right.” So I called a few friends from within the industry up, asked for samples and mixed it with gear that is now available. So there is some product from the current lines and some from FW10, if you want to find out what it is, drop me a line.
Most importantly I have to thank Marc, the photographer and our reluctant model flickr.com/kiwi_kirsch, who took time from his actual job as a bike courier here in town. He actually makes some great bike accesories, which you can check out here: http://en.dawanda.com/shop/kiwikirsch.
Also do make sure to have a look through our photographers Marc’s website here.
