The xx – “Islands (CHLLNGR remiXX)”
Those who know me might be a bit surprised by this choice here but hear me out. I have heard about the “xx” a few times, softly spoken about by some friends whose musical taste I highly value and there has always been this undertone when spoken about this band of “I hope they don’t blow up and start sucking”. I must admit, there is something unusually good about this, even though I would normally have thrown this into the hipster “oh wow america discovered electronica” movement. But I won’t. The “xx” is definitely growing on me, and this here remix be Chllngr sounds damn amazing.
