Nulla tenaci invia est via – the story of Saab
January 26th 2010 brought the good news: Saab, the Swedish car manufacturer currently owned and opted for wind-down by General Motors, was bought out by Spyker Cars, a small dutch manufacturer of high-end handbuilt sportscars. The whole takeover-process started in late November 2009 when the Swedish Koenigsegg Group tried to purchase Saab Automobile from General Motors. After the failure of the expected deal and GM’s announcement of winding-down Saab about five buyers contacted GM to talk about a purchase of the brand. Immediately Spyker became the favorite option of the biggest parts of Saab’s massive fanbase all around the world. The tight schedule of the sale, mostly dictated by GM, and the countless actions of the massive, worldwide Saab community made this transaction to be a real thriller. And it’s not even finished 100% yet.
So let’s take a little look at the history of Saab and have a talk with Swade, head of the one and only saabsunited.com, the #1 only-resource for anything that is connected to the Griffin.
