In the 60′s Lou Reed had a $38.00 a month apartment on Ludlow Street- this cheap rent gave him the break to go through all of his ups and downs and still become Lou Reed. The building with the for rent sign on the side is also on Ludlow- a studio starts at $3,000.00 per month- the fire is the burning down- the scored earth idea- when the cops were coming to clean a homeless lot to build luxury apartments.
